About ShiftAnchor
ShiftAnchor is staff scheduling, time clock and payroll timesheet software for small and mid-size businesses. One system, from the roster you build on Monday to the file payroll imports on Friday.
The schedule you build on Monday is the file payroll imports on Friday.
In most small businesses the schedule, the time clock and the pay run are three different systems. The rota lives in a spreadsheet or a group chat. Attendance lives in a punch clock, a paper sheet, or somebody's memory. Payroll lives somewhere else again.
Nothing connects them, so a person does. Someone sits down at the end of the week and retypes hours from one place into another. That is where the time goes, and it is also where the mistakes come from. Numbers stop matching. An employee queries their pay and nobody can reconstruct how the total was reached.
ShiftAnchor removes the retyping by making those three things the same system.
You build the week. Staff clock in against the shifts you scheduled. The timesheet builds itself from both, you check it, you sign it, and it exports as a PDF pay statement or a CSV your payroll provider can import. The number payroll receives is the same number you approved, because it never got copied by hand.
Any business where people work shifts rather than fixed office hours, and where those shifts turn into a pay run at the end of the week.
Split shifts, early opens, late closes, and a roster that changes every week.
Weekend peaks, seasonal hires, and staff cross-trained across more than one role.
Cover that cannot have gaps, and hours that have to be recorded accurately.
Teams spread across sites who clock in from their own phones.
Trades paid at different rates depending on the job they worked that day.
Overnight and rotating shifts where the timesheet has to be exact.
Scheduling software already exists. Most of it is built for companies with a head office, a rollout plan, and somebody whose job is to run the system. If you have eleven staff and you are also working the floor, that software is not for you. It costs too much, it takes too long to set up, and it asks you to learn a way of working you did not ask for.
The alternative most small teams land on is a spreadsheet, which is free and flexible and quietly expensive. It does not know who is available. It does not warn you when you have double-booked someone. It does not deduct breaks. It certainly does not produce anything payroll can import.
So we built the thing in the middle: fast enough to set up in an afternoon, but honest about money. Breaks are deducted the same way everywhere. A signed timesheet is frozen, so a pay rise next month cannot quietly rewrite a week you already paid. Every pay adjustment records who made it and why.
The test we hold it to is simple: at the end of the week, can you hand payroll a number you would be willing to defend to the person being paid? Everything in the product is there to make the answer yes.
It does not move money. ShiftAnchor produces the timesheet and the import file. Actually paying people needs a bank or a payroll processor, and that is deliberately not our job. We would rather be clear about that now than have you find out in your first pay week.
Set your business up in two minutes and build a real week.
